  1. Fascinating documentary, Chris! I find myself thinking about what was going through his mind during the 40 years he lived here, why he never returned to Europe. As the years passed, he must have questioned his initial fears for his life. Perhaps it was guilt that caused him to remain in "exile". Or, did he have contacts in England and Ireland that told him he was safe as long as he stayed on this side of the Atlantic? I'll be listening to this piece again!

  2. Absolutely grabs your attention and keeps it for the full program . I have read all of Tom Curran's books and think this merging of the two stories to be wonderful . I too wonder about Hugh Tudor and can find sympathy for him having to live in exile (even if self-imposed)in spite of wrongs committed earlier in his life .

  3. Chris, I have heard your story "A bullet for the General" Radio docs do not get much better in my opinion than this , the way you wrapped the drama around the actual story gave it great suspense . Anyway thank you for making such inspiring radio.

As to the Generals exile in Canada , I think the IRA could have had just about anyone anywhere back in the day if the set their sights on a target. I will listen a few times before it's all over. Thank you .
